Why I’m Here

I became a licensed mental health clinician, mid life, after my own personal journey of living with a loved one with a substance use disorder. I know first-hand the stress and anxiety that come from living with substance abuse and its effect on mental, physical and emotional health.

I began as a volunteer parent coach working for the Partnership to End Addiction. Subsequently, I went back to school for addiction counseling and then earned a Master’s degree in Social Work to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Over the years, my work has expanded to include a wide range of mental health needs as well as couples counseling and family therapy. I am motivated by therapy’s healing power to help clients to realize their own inner wisdom through communication and empathy.

My Philosophy
& Approach

When it comes to navigating life challenges, I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My individualized style of therapy caters to your specific needs. We will work collaboratively to build upon your strengths and find resolutions that work for you and your life.

Mindfulness practice and a spiritual approach to guiding self-growth are integral to my work as a therapist. I am trauma-certified and take a person centered, solution focused, holistic, and intuitive approach to my work.

Working with me means entering into a compassionate and non-judgmental space for every session. It is a place for you to openly share your life, and together, begin on a journey of clarity and healing. My professional philosophy is that anyone can heal if they have the tools and support to do so.

Training & Education

My Bachelor of Arts degree is from Gettysburg College, and my Master’s in Social Work is from Salisbury University.

I have Certification in Level 1 trauma training from the Ferentz Institute, completed safe space training for the LGTBQ+ community and facilitated and developed an Intensive Outpatient treatment program for addictions.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide personal psychotherapy to individuals, families, couples, and groups faced with challenges including but not limited to depression, anxiety, parenting, ADHD, behavioral issues, self-esteem, substance use and other addictions, grief and loss, relationship issues and life transitions.

My approach is strengths-based, and I have training in Dialectical Behavior therapy, which involves a cognitive approach using mindfulness, acceptance, change strategies, emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills. I also have training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples. (EFT) is a brief evidence-based couple therapy based in attachment theory. Community Reinforcement and Family training for families is used to help families with a loved one using substances.
